Towards the Light
A downloadable game
Prepare, Commune, Preach
The sun is high, your people are in the wilderness. You are in desperate need of a vision to help your people. Use your skills of creation and divination to draw and interpret the images revealed to you.
Gameplay
Towards the Light is a drawing and storytelling game about divining messages from above.
Over the course of the game you will create an interesting, and hopefully beautiful, 3 panel triptych with no artistic skills required!
By creating interesting shadow shapes using simple drawing exercises you will create divine beings, imagine the meaning shown to you and decide how it shapes the future.

What is a triptych?
A triptych is a work of art that consists of 3 panels, usually it is hinged or joined together. They’re often associated with religious works & displayed on altars.
Principles of creation
Making art is hard, some tips below.
- Try to fill the full blank space, end to end.
- To get out of your head
- Use your non-dominate hand
- Don’t take your pen off the page
- Turn the page upside down
- Look at different artists for inspiration
- Ojih Odutola, Kame Kngwarreye, RETNA, Doodle Man, Basquiat
- Van Gogh Drawings, Hockney Ipad work, O’Keeffe watercolours
- Be collaborative but the current player has the final decision in their actions.
